Utilizing the Soundcast VGtx, you can expand your existing hardwire or Wifi-enabled audio video system to include a “roving zone”.
No matter which home music or automation system you're using, you can bring the source in to the VGtx (with either analog or optical connection) and broadcast your music to any of our VGX Series™ speakers or any Bluetooth enabled device, adding the portability and versatility to establish any living space as an entertainment space.
Can I use Sonos or Alexa Dot with my
Soundcast VGX Series™ Speakers?
Absolutely! You can integrate your existing Soundcast speakers as a part of your Sonos System. “Sonos Connect box” connects to your VGtx Bluetooth transmitter, allowing you to stream your Sonos music to your Soundcast Outdoor speakers. You can also use any Amazon Alexa enabled device to control your Soundcast system with your voice.

Download the Sonos app (if not already installed); Go to the app store on your mobile device and search for "Sonos app." Then select and download the app. You can also select a link below:

Steps to set up Sonos on your home WIFI
1. Plug in your Sonos Connect box to power.
2. Open the Sonos app on your device and select "Setup New System".
3. When you're presented with a choice between STANDARD and BOOST setup,
select STANDARD and follow the on-screen prompts.
Use a 1/8 inch mini-stereo to RCA audio cable—plug the mini-stereo end into VGtx analog Audio IN of the Soundcast transmitter and the RCA end into the analog Audio Out connection on the Sonos Connect box shown below.

Open the Sonos app on your device and create a NEW ZONE and name it “Soundcast Speaker”. On your Sonos app please go to: Settings->Room Settings->(Room to change)->Room Name. Type new name in top space and save.
Turn on pairing mode on VGx speakers by pressing the Bluetooth pairing button; the Bluetooth status indicator on the speaker blinks slowly to show the speaker is discoverable.
On VGtx, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds until the Red/blue LED starts blinking. On VGx Soundcast speaker press the Bluetooth button once. Once both, VGtx and Soundcast speaker blue LED are solid blue, this means they are successfully connected.

Connecting to Alexa Dot
What is Amazon Alexa?
Amazon Alexa is the easy-to-use voice service from Amazon that allows you to control your music, get the weather, traffic reports, control your smart home, and much more. All with your voice. Use any Amazon Alexa enabled device to control your Soundcast system with your voice. Just ask Alexa to play your favorite tunes and enjoy the music from your Soundcast outdoor wireless speaker.
Please follow the following steps.
Per Alexa Dot’s instructions, download the free Alexa app, available on phones and tablets with:
Fire OS 3.0 or higher
Android 4.4 or higher
iOS 8.0 or higher
To download the Alexa app, go to the app store on your mobile device and search for "Alexa app." Then select and download the app. You can also select a link below:

Turn on Echo Dot.
Place your Echo Dot in a central location (at least eight inches from any walls and windows). Then, plug the included power adapter into Echo Dot and then into a power outlet. The light ring on Echo Dot turns blue, and then orange. When the light turns orange, Alexa greets you.
Note: Other USB power adapters, like phone chargers, may not provide enough
power to Echo Dot.
Connect Echo Dot to a Wi-Fi network.
In the Alexa app, follow the instructions to connect Echo Dot to a Wi-Fi network. To learn more, go to Connect Echo Dot to Wi-Fi
If the setup process does not automatically start, press and hold the Action button on Echo Dot for five seconds. Then, open the Alexa app, and go to Settings > Set up a new device.
If Echo Dot doesn't connect to your Wi-Fi network, restart Echo Dot by unplugging and plugging the device in again. If you still have trouble, reset your Echo Dot to its factory settings and set it up again. To learn more, go to Reset Your Echo Dot (2nd Generation).
Connect Echo Dot to Soundcast VGx speakers:
Before you begin:
Set your Echo Dot and Soundcast VGx speakers at least three feet apart. When Echo Dot is close to VGx speakers, it may be more difficult for Alexa to hear the wake word and other requests.
Make sure you can connect your VGx speakers to other Bluetooth devices, like a mobile phone.
Turn your Bluetooth speaker on and turn the volume up.
Disconnect any other Bluetooth devices from Echo Dot. Echo Dot can only connect to one Bluetooth device at a given time.
To connect Echo Dot to VGx speakers:
Turn on pairing mode on VGx speakers by pressing the Bluetooth paring button, the Bluetooth status indicator on the speaker blinks slowly to show the speaker is discoverable.
Open the Alexa app on your device and select Settings.
Select your device, and then select Bluetooth > Pair a New Device. Your Echo Dot enters pairing mode. When Echo Dot discovers your VGx speaker, the speaker appears in the list of available devices in the Alexa app.
Select VGx speaker. Echo Dot connects to VGx speaker and Alexa then tells you if the connection is successful.
In the Alexa app select Continue. Your VGx speaker is now paired with your Echo Dot.
If you want to play audio from another device on your Bluetooth speaker, say "Disconnect."
To control audio volume when connected to VGx speakers, use your Echo Dot (by voice or the light ring) and the volume controls on your VGx speakers.
To connect to a previously paired device, say "Connect." Echo Dot connects to the device that was last connected.
